Great beginning/Great ending

The three amigos just arrived in Providence; at the airport for the return flight home!
What an incredible trip we had!!!

Providence, RI has a "Waterfire Festival" in the summer.  They light 100 bonfires in the river at dusk and keep them burning past midnight.  This drummer was making some impressive noise with his "drums".  Tod even got to hold one of his drums for him for a while!  These tiles were all over the walls downtown.  They were created by the people of Providence following 9/11.
Tod, Tom and Jerry - a motley crew!

Last leg

Leaving Woodstock for an easy 75 miles back to Providence, our starting point.  We went to Federal Hill for dinner.  It's like a Little Italy and we ate a fabulous real deal Italian dinner.
Parked along the road was an Orange County Chopper.

This is The Flume, a natural gorge , which you can see if you look close in the picture with Rick off to the side.

Woodstock, NH

This is Woodstock, NH.  We stayed here for two days at a B & B.  We rented bicycles one day and rode up to the Flume (see next post).  From here Tom, Tod, Rick and Leda rode up to Mt. Washington on their motorcycles one morning.  They've got the sticker to prove it!

White Mtns - Kancamagus Pass

This was our longest day of riding, but beautiful!  We rode from Bar Harbor, ME to Woodstock, NH (270 miles).

Bar Harbor, Maine

We definitely could've spent more time here!

Check out Tod's lenses!

Rick, Tod & Tom

Today we hit several high points.  Our first stop was Plymouth, where we saw "the rock", as well as a replica of the Mayflower.
Next stop was Salem, where we watched a reenactment of a Salem witch trial.  Spooky!
Our resting place tonight is Portsmouth.
Today's ride was arduous due to quite  bit of interstate traffic, which we had to take due to the rural routes being closed due to flooding.  From this point on it should be more relaxing!

Boston-our first leg

We (Rick, Lisa, Tod, Loretta, and Leda) arrived in Providence, RI Friday evening to beautiful 60 degrees and clear skies.  Tom and Jerry met us with the motorcycles after leaving Cookeville Thursday night and driving all night.  Saturday morning  Tom, Leda, Rick and Lisa took an hour train ride from Providence to Boston.  We then took the T (Boston's subway system) to downtown.
We walked the Freedom Trail and visited the famed Faneiul Hall where our country began.  We ate in Little Italy for lunch and returned to Jennifer and Brian's for dinner:  an excellent fare of grilled chicken, italian sausage, and corn-on-the-cob.
Tod and Loretta headed out to Vermont and stayed at a bed and breakfast.  We are meeting up with them today in Plymouth.
Jerry and Sharon went on a 31 mile bicycle ride with Brian.  Jerry thought their son-in-law was trying to do them in!
This morning we suit up and get on the bikes!
